Srinagar-Jammu National Highway Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall
On January 24, authorities announced the suspension of vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on January 25. This decision was made in light of heavy snow accumulation, particularly between Nachlana and the Navyug Tunnel. Snow clearance operations are currently in progress to ensure safe travel for commuters.
Restrictions on Vehicular Traffic
Until further notice, no vehicular traffic will be allowed from Nagrota, Jammu, towards Doda, Ramban, Banihal, and Srinagar, and vice versa. The closure of the Jammu-Doda road is also in effect due to adverse weather conditions.
Travel Advisory
Commuters traveling to and from Katra, Reasi, and Udhampur towns are advised to carry valid photo identity cards to facilitate smooth movement at checkpoints. It is crucial to adhere to these guidelines to ensure hassle-free travel.
Road Closures
The Kishtwar-Sinthan Top-Anantnag road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road, and the Mughal Road are currently closed to vehicular traffic due to heavy snow accumulation. This disruption has affected connectivity to several regions, necessitating caution and awareness among travelers.
