Empowering Teachers to Shape a Progressive Society
The One Day Convention of Teachers in Udhampur witnessed Minister Sakeena Itoo emphasizing the crucial role of educators in shaping a progressive and enlightened society. She highlighted that teachers are the true architects of societal development, going beyond classrooms to nurture responsible citizens and strengthen the moral fabric of society.
Joined by Director School Education Jammu, Naseem Javaid Choudhary, and other senior officers, Minister Itoo lauded the teachers for their pivotal contribution to the education sector. She urged them to adapt to evolving educational challenges, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development and value-based education.
Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the introduction of the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme revolutionized the school education sector in J&K. Minister Sakeena acknowledged the scheme’s impact in providing education to students in far-flung areas, emphasizing the need to recognize teachers for their remarkable contribution.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing the education sector, Minister Itoo assured sustained efforts to upgrade infrastructure, enhance teaching standards, and promote holistic learning across educational institutions in J&K.
Director School Education Jammu commended the government’s tireless efforts in developing the education sector, addressing issues such as the change of academic session, timely updation of seniority lists, and conduct of DPCs. He outlined various reformative steps aimed at improving educational standards across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the Convention, teachers praised the government’s initiatives in the education sector and expressed gratitude for decisions such as regularizing CPWs, posting of Principals, availability of textbooks, and timely conduct of DPCs. They also presented demands to the Minister, including provision of leave salary at retirement, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, and timely disbursement of dues for the Mid Day Meal scheme.
On the sidelines of the event, Minister Sakeena distributed sewing machines to women beneficiaries of the Social Welfare department and bicycles to school children for their outstanding performance in national sports championships and academic activities.
