India Gears Up for ODI Series Against New Zealand
Former India captain Rohit Sharma took on a mentoring role during India’s final preparations for the upcoming three-ODI series against New Zealand. He offered valuable batting tips to Mohammed Siraj, while Rishabh Pant faced a minor setback during net practice.
During a training session, Rohit observed Siraj struggling with his batting and stepped in to provide guidance. The India opener’s presence and expertise added value to the team’s practice session, with other players like Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja also honing their skills in the nets.
Notably, the players had been busy representing their state teams in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, showcasing their form and talent in recent matches. However, Pant suffered a temporary injury during practice when he was hit above the waist while facing throwdown specialists.
Despite the setback, the Indian team remains focused on the upcoming series against New Zealand. The first ODI is scheduled to take place at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium, marking the venue’s debut for hosting a men’s international match. Subsequent matches will be held at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium and the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
With the stage set for an exciting series, India’s preparations have been thorough and meticulous, highlighting the team’s determination to perform at their best against a formidable New Zealand side.
