Spirited Youth in Tarzoo Village Brave Snow to Play Volleyball
Despite the harsh winter conditions in Sopore, north Kashmir, a group of enthusiastic young individuals from Tarzoo village displayed their passion for sports by transforming a snow-covered field into a makeshift volleyball arena. The scene, captured by news agency KNO, captured the hearts of onlookers and quickly went viral on social media platforms.
Adorned in jackets and traditional Kashmiri pherans, these resilient youths took on the challenge of marking boundaries and setting up a net on the snowy ground. What followed was an exhilarating hour-long friendly volleyball match filled with energetic dives, celebratory high-fives, and infectious laughter.
One of the participants, Bilal, aged 25, expressed, “The snowfall may be heavy, but our love for sports is even stronger. We have fond memories of playing here, and the snow only adds to the thrill.” Another youth echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the heartwarming sight of active and joyous young individuals braving the weather to engage in sports activities that bring everyone together.
Notably, Tarzoo village, located on the outskirts of Sopore, is no stranger to sports enthusiasm. In 2025, the same village hosted a pioneering volleyball tournament on synthetic turf, showcasing the community’s dedication to promoting sports and unity among its residents.
