Youth from Shopian District Shine at SQAY National Championship
In a remarkable display of talent and determination, young athletes from Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir made their mark at the recent SQAY National Championship held in Srinagar. The event, which took place from January 5 to 7, saw the contingent of boys and girls from Shopian clinch an impressive haul of eight gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, showcasing their prowess on the national stage.
The success of these budding sportspersons was made possible through the support of the CRPF Madadgaar Scheme of KOS Sector, as highlighted in an official statement released by the CRPF. Under the guidance of IG Vineet Brijlal, IPS, the young athletes received valuable mentorship and encouragement, paving the way for their outstanding performance.
As Shopian district falls under the purview of 14 Bn. CRPF, the athletes were provided with unwavering support and guidance by Commandant Mahashakti Upadhyay. Beyond logistical assistance, Commandant Upadhyay personally engaged with the participants, offering insights on career development, instilling discipline, and highlighting future prospects in sports.
