Sakina Itoo Accuses MP Aga Ruhullah of Misleading Unemployed Youth
The Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sakina Itoo, has voiced her concerns regarding the statements made by MP Aga Ruhullah, accusing him of misleading the educated unemployed youth. In an exclusive interview with Greater Kashmir, Itoo revealed that the government has already passed a decision on the reservation issue in the last cabinet meeting, with the proposal now awaiting approval from J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
During the conversation with Greater Kashmir, Itoo emphasized that the government cannot disclose every cabinet decision prior to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor due to the current governance structure in the Union Territory. She further added, “We are running our government in the UT and we cannot make every cabinet decision public prior to approval of the Lieutenant Governor.”
Earlier, MP Ruhullah had urged the government to inform students about the measures and decisions taken regarding reservation. In response to his statements, Itoo criticized Ruhullah for playing politics over the issue and causing further distress to the youth. She urged Ruhullah to stage a protest outside the LG’s office if he was sincerely concerned about the matter.
According to Itoo, the government has fulfilled its commitment by submitting the report of the sub-committee to the cabinet, which was subsequently forwarded to the LG for approval. She emphasized that the government cannot disclose any details until they receive final approval from the LG.
Expressing her disappointment with Ruhullah’s actions, Itoo advised the youth not to be swayed by misleading statements and assured them that the government has taken necessary steps to address the reservation issue. She concluded by stating, “Our government has fulfilled its commitment.”
