Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Urges J&K Police to Combat Terrorism
During the inaugural ceremony of the J&K Police’s Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium in Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of decisively tackling terrorism and fostering collaboration within society to eliminate the terror network completely.
Expressing his admiration for the unwavering determination of the J&K Police, the Lieutenant Governor stated, “Adversity will not break our spirit. We are committed to overcoming every obstacle as we strive towards new milestones.”
This year’s tournament, featuring 14 competing teams, marks the resumption of the event after a hiatus of over a decade. Lieutenant Governor Sinha paid tribute to the brave personnel of the J&K Police who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation, emphasizing the need to honor their legacy and uphold their values.
Recognizing the significance of instilling strong moral values and character in the youth, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the role of the J&K Police’s Civic Action Program in empowering young individuals and fostering community relationships.
Addressing the pressing issue of drug abuse, Lieutenant Governor Sinha called for collective action from all sections of society to create a drug-free environment in J&K. He reaffirmed the commitment of the J&K Police and the UT administration to support youth, provide opportunities, and nurture talent.
The event was attended by top officials including Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K; S.J.M Gillani, Special DG (Coordination); Abdul Ghani Mir, Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF J&K; Anand Jain, ADGP Armed Police, as well as members of Hockey associations and distinguished sports personalities.
