Pakistani Government Acknowledges Impact of India’s Precision Strikes
The Pakistani government recently admitted to the impact of India’s strategic and precision strikes on their military installation during the escalation in May. The strikes came in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
During a year-end press briefing, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that India had targeted the Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi’s Chakala, causing damage to the military installation and injuring personnel stationed there.
According to Dar, India sent multiple drones into Pakistani territory within 36 hours, with one drone successfully damaging the military installation. This incident showcased the scale and precision of India’s operation.
Following the attack, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, held a meeting on May 9 to discuss the evolving situation and authorize necessary actions in response.
India’s strategic actions targeted Pakistan’s military installations in May, following Operation Sindoor, which aimed at nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Operation Sindoor and Escalation of Conflict
The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This led to increased cross-border shelling from Pakistan and retaliatory actions from the Indian Armed Forces.
After significant damage to the Nur Khan Air Base and other Pakistani air bases, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations proposed a ceasefire to India’s DGMO, which was accepted. Both sides agreed to halt all military operations on land, at sea, and in the air.
Satellite images captured by Maxar Technologies revealed the extent of damage to multiple air bases in Pakistan, including Nur Khan Air Base. The images confirmed strikes on several bases, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s rare admission of India’s strikes on Nur Khan Air Base contradicted Pakistan’s usual stance of denial regarding Indian military actions. He commended Pakistan’s Air Force for utilizing homegrown technology to defend the country and acknowledged the use of modern gadgets and technology on Chinese jets.
Conclusion
The acknowledgment of India’s precision strikes on Pakistani military installations marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict between the two nations. The admission of damage and casualties underscores the intensity of the situation and the need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.
As tensions persist between India and Pakistan, it remains crucial for both countries to prioritize dialogue and peaceful resolutions to avoid further conflict and casualties.
