Mehbooba Mufti Criticizes NSA Ajit Doval for Revenge Call
Speaking out against National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has condemned his recent remarks calling for revenge for centuries-old events. In a scathing post, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir accused Doval of promoting a “communal ideology of hate” and normalizing violence against Muslims.
Doval’s controversial statement was made during the opening ceremony of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in Delhi. He emphasized the need for India to strengthen itself not only at the borders but in all aspects, including economically, to avenge a history of attacks and subjugation. However, Mehbooba Mufti criticized this approach, stating that calling for revenge in the 21st century over historical events is merely a dog whistle that encourages uneducated youth to target minority communities.
Expressing her disappointment in Doval, Mehbooba highlighted that as a high-ranking national security officer, his duty is to protect the nation against internal and external threats, not to endorse divisive ideologies. She warned against the dangerous consequences of inciting violence and discrimination against vulnerable communities.
Overall, Mehbooba Mufti’s response to Ajit Doval’s remarks underscores the importance of promoting unity and tolerance in a diverse society. Rather than resorting to vengeance and hatred, she advocates for dialogue and cooperation to address historical grievances and build a peaceful future for all citizens.
