Reopening of Tourist Destinations in Jammu and Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has recently announced the reopening of 14 tourist destinations across the Kashmir and Jammu divisions after conducting a thorough security review. This decision comes after these sites were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, in a statement, mentioned that the sites will be reopened with immediate effect, following discussions and security assessments. This move aims to boost tourism in the region and attract a large number of visitors.
Tourist Spots Reopened in Kashmir Division
Among the 11 tourist spots reopened in the Kashmir division are Yousmarg, Doodhpathri in Budgam, Dandipora Park in Kokernag, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan, and Padpawan in Shopian, Astanpora and Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Thajwas Glacier, Hung Park in Ganderbal, and Wullar/Watlab in Baramulla.
Tourist Destinations Reopened in Jammu Division
In the Jammu division, three tourist destinations – Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban, and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar – have also been reopened for visitors.
Additionally, the administration has stated that four other sites – Gurez, Athwatoo, and Bangus in the Kashmir division, and Ramkund in Ramban district of Jammu division – will be reopened once snow clearance is completed.
The reopening of these tourist destinations is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism industry in the region, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.
