Kolkata ~ KIIT University has once again made Odisha proud by securing the top position in the state, both among private and government universities, as per the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2026. The university has achieved the 294th rank in Asia, reaffirming its global reputation for academic excellence.
The QS rankings, which evaluate universities across Asia based on various performance indicators, included over 1,500 institutions this year, with 555 new entries. KIIT-DU’s consistent achievements have made it stand out, positioning it as one of the leading private universities in India.
Regionally, KIIT continues to be the top university in Eastern India, highlighting its dedication to academic and research prowess. The rankings consider factors such as citations per paper, faculty-student ratio, academic reputation, staff qualifications, international collaborations, and employer feedback.
Earlier this year, KIIT also excelled in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, securing the 5th position in India and being placed in the top 501 globally.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, expressed his delight over this accomplishment, stating,
“KIIT’s impressive performance in the QS Asia University Rankings reflects its ongoing commitment to academic excellence. Despite being a young university of just 22 years, KIIT has consistently maintained a high rank in global university rankings, showcasing its competitiveness with well-established institutions worldwide.”
