Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum Condemns Delay in JKBOSE Chairman Appointment
The Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) Chairman, Qayoom Wani, has strongly criticized the authorities for their continuous failure to appoint a permanent Chairman to the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). Wani labeled this ongoing issue as a clear display of administrative neglect and political indifference, which is directly impacting the educational prospects of thousands of students.
According to Wani, the absence of a permanent Chairman at JKBOSE has led to a standstill in the institution’s operations, resulting in delayed result declarations. This delay has put immense stress and uncertainty on students and their families who are eagerly awaiting the outcome of their examinations. The prolonged indecision regarding appointments is not merely a procedural error but a severe injustice to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
Wani emphasized, “Using the appointment of the JKBOSE Chairman as a political pawn and leaving such a crucial institution without leadership is equivalent to toying with the future of our children. The prevalent trend of jeopardizing students’ careers in Kashmir needs to be addressed urgently to prevent further harm.”
The prolonged delay has disrupted the academic calendar, admission processes, and career planning, adding significant mental pressure on students. Educational progress should not be compromised due to bureaucratic inefficiency or political agendas. Every moment of inaction steals valuable time, confidence, and opportunities from our young generation.
JKCSF has urged the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to prioritize the appointment of a competent full-time Chairman for JKBOSE without further delay. The prompt announcement of pending results is essential to provide much-needed relief to students awaiting their academic fate.
Wani highlighted, “It is crucial for the government to recognize that silence and procrastination also constitute decisions—and in this scenario, they work against the best interests of students. Accountability must be enforced, and such negligence should not be repeated in the future.”
JKCSF pledges unwavering support to the students of Jammu & Kashmir and vows to advocate for their rights, dignity, and future protection. The organization remains committed to amplifying the voices of students until their educational well-being is safeguarded.
