Girls Shine in JKBOSE Class 10 and 12 Exams, Outscoring Boys

Srinagar- According to the recent results declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, girls have outperformed boys in both Class 10 and Class 12 annual regular examinations. The overall pass percentage recorded was 84 percent in Class 10 and 85 percent in Class 12.
Officials revealed that out of the 94,845 students who appeared in the Class 10 exams, 85.03 percent qualified. Among them, 47,736 were boys and 47,109 were girls. Notably, girls had a slight edge with 85.78 percent clearing the exams compared to 84.30 percent of boys.
A total of 16,550 students achieved Grade A1 in Class 10, followed by 14,398 who secured Grade A2.
The Class 10 examinations were held across 994 examination centers in the Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division starting from November 3. The candidates included 68,804 students from ten districts of Kashmir and 25,224 students from eight districts of Jammu’s winter zone areas, along with 660 students from Kargil and 95 from Leh district.
For Class 12, 85 percent of the 70,735 students who appeared in the annual regular exams qualified. Girls continued to lead with an 86 percent pass rate, while boys had an 82 percent success rate.
Approximately 33,549 candidates, representing about 47 percent, achieved distinction by scoring above 75 percent marks in the Class 12 exams.
The Board had provided a 15 percent syllabus relaxation for Classes 10, 11, and 12 due to various disruptions caused by weather conditions. As per the Director Academics, eligible students were required to attempt 85 percent of the syllabus, treated as equivalent to 100 percent marks, in the annual regular 2025 exams.
