Enhanced Security Measures Boost Tourism in Snow-Bound Doda, Jammu and Kashmir
Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened in the snow-covered tourist destinations of Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, following a recent influx of tourists. Security personnel have been visibly deployed at popular high-altitude meadows such as Chattargalla, Panj Nallah, and Guldanda along the Bhaderwah–Pathankot highway to enhance visitors’ confidence and ensure their safety.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and paramilitary forces, along with local hospitality, has helped alleviate initial concerns and allowed tourists to enjoy the natural beauty and engage in snow-related activities.
Superintendent of Police Vinod Sharma highlighted the security challenges posed by heavy snowfall in the high-altitude mountains surrounding Bhaderwah. The security forces, including the police and paramilitary, are providing round-the-clock security cover to ensure the safety of tourists amidst harsh weather conditions.
Visitors have expressed appreciation for the security arrangements and hospitality extended by local vendors, with many noting the excellent police presence along snow-covered passes. Tourists from Maharashtra and Gujarat shared positive experiences of feeling secure and enjoying their visit to Bhaderwah.
