Basic Life Support Training Program Successfully Concludes in Srinagar
In Srinagar, on January 13th, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO) organized the first batch of an ongoing Basic Life Support (BLS) training program at the Government College of Physical Education (GCOPE) in Ganderbal.
The training, according to the DYSS statement, was specifically tailored for Youth Services and Sports (YSS) officials from various sports zones in the Srinagar district.
Enthusiastic participation was witnessed during the two-day program, where officials were trained in essential emergency response and life-saving techniques.
The training program was divided into two sections. The first section included introduction, demonstrations, repetitions, simulations, and conclusion, ensuring that participants not only gained theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience. The second section focused on managing bleeding, dirty wounds, burns, fractures, and unconsciousness, providing trainees with practical skills to handle emergency medical situations.
Dr. Nusrat Ara conducted the sessions in a highly professional manner, guiding the trainees through the core fundamentals of basic life support.
Participants expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the training, stating that it significantly improved their readiness to respond to medical emergencies in sports and public settings.
The college authorities provided full logistical and institutional support for the seamless conduct of the program.
It was also announced that the BLS training will continue and be extended to all YSS officials across the Kashmir Province during the winter session as part of a broader initiative to enhance emergency preparedness in the sports sector.
