FFRC Warns Schools Against Charging Excessive Fees
The Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) in Jammu and Kashmir has issued a strong warning to schools regarding the charging of fees above the rates set by the committee. The FFRC has cautioned that strict action will be taken against any school found violating these regulations.
In an official notice released recently, the FFRC highlighted that they have received complaints about certain schools charging fees that exceed the approved amounts. The committee labeled this practice as a serious misconduct and emphasized that it will not be tolerated.
According to the notice, any school discovered charging even a single rupee more than the specified fee structure will face severe consequences. This includes a penalty equivalent to 10 percent of the total revenue generated by the school and a potential recommendation for de-recognition.
Furthermore, the FFRC mandated that schools which have already collected fees exceeding the approved limit must promptly refund the excess amount to the students.
The committee also instructed all schools to strictly adhere to the fee structure guidelines set by the committee and refrain from imposing financial burdens on parents and guardians.
Issued under the authority of FFRC Chairperson, Justice Sunil Hali, the notice emphasized that non-compliance will result in enforcement action. Justice Hali reiterated the committee’s commitment to ensuring compliance with regulations. [KNT]
