The District Institute of Education and Trainings Baramulla: A Beacon of Excellence
The District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Baramulla, under the astute leadership of its Principal Mr. Abdul Rasid, who also serves as the Chief Education Officer Baramulla, has emerged as a distinguished Centre of Excellence for Professional Development in Jammu and Kashmir. The institution’s commitment to quality, vision, and dedication to the welfare of teachers and students at the grassroots level is evident in every aspect of its operations.
A Collective Commitment to Excellence
What sets DIET Baramulla apart is the collective responsibility embraced by all faculty members. Each assignment is treated not as a mere formality, but as a mission in itself. Mr. Ali Mohammad Shah, the Vice Principal, plays a pivotal role in the institution’s activities, focusing on student academic progress and outreach. Additionally, Mr. Javid Ahmad Lone, Head of Department and former Principal HSS Bijhama, brings a wealth of experience in administration and academics to the table.
Other Heads of Departments such as Mr. Sajad Ahmad, Mr. Tanveer Ahmad, and Mr. Rameez Ahmad Suddan consistently exhibit professional integrity and dedication. Their collaborative efforts ensure that training programs are relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with the realities of the classroom. This cohesive team fosters an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
Empowering Teachers through Outreach
One of the most impactful initiatives of DIET Baramulla is the organization of training programs directly at the teachers’ doorsteps. By reaching remote areas like Uri, which is over 55 kilometers from the district headquarters, the institution demonstrates its commitment to inclusivity and field-oriented approach. This proactive strategy saves time, reduces stress, and enhances teacher participation.
The active involvement of the Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of Departments, and other officials in these outreach programs underscores their dedication and support. Their presence in far-flung Educational Zones conveys a strong message of solidarity and leadership, inspiring teachers to actively engage in professional development.
Focus on Quality Education
Since the arrival of Mr. Ali Mohammad Shah, Mr. Javid Ahmad Lone, and Mr. Rameez Ahmad Suddan, DIET Baramulla has intensified its focus on delivering quality education. Their concerted efforts are reflected in structured trainings, consistent follow-ups, and academic guidance aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
During the peak academic session, the DIET team extends its support to sensitive areas near the Line of Control in Uri Sub Division, benefiting Education Zones like Boniyar, Chandanwari, Jhullah, and Uri. This hands-on engagement requires meticulous planning, courage, and strong administrative coordination, resulting in tangible improvements in teacher confidence and classroom practices.
Administrative Excellence and Collaborative Approach
The Joint Director North Kashmir’s proactive visits and personal oversight of academic processes in all three districts of North Kashmir have enhanced accountability and coordination. This top-down and bottom-up approach amplifies the impact of DIET interventions, ensuring effective implementation of programs.
Managing academic and training needs across the expansive geography of Baramulla, with eighteen Educational Zones, presents a challenge that DIET Baramulla navigates through teamwork and coordination. The unwavering support of Worthy Deputy Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Mr. Iftikhar Bashir, further strengthens these efforts, promoting smooth program implementation.
Enhancing Teacher Capacity through Resource Persons
DIET Baramulla boasts a diverse pool of trained Resource Persons who play a vital role in training and mentoring teachers at the school level. Their involvement enhances teacher capacity in key areas aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, such as experiential learning, competency-based assessment, inclusive education, and digital integration.
Impact and Future Outlook
The impact of DIET Baramulla’s initiatives is palpable at the grassroots level, with teachers feeling supported, schools demonstrating improved practices, and students benefiting from enriched learning environments. The institution’s unwavering focus on quality, access, and equity continues to shine brighter with each passing day.
As a Master Resource Person, I have personally witnessed the supportive and guiding role of DIET Baramulla. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Ali Mohammad Shah, Mr. Javid Ahmad Lone, and Mr. Rameez Ahmad Suddan for their constant encouragement, guidance, and acknowledgment at every level. Their leadership serves as an inspiration for educators, positioning DIET Baramulla as a benchmark institution for professional development and quality education in the district.
