Trump Announces Venezuela’s Plan to Purchase Only American-Made Products
President Donald Trump recently revealed that Venezuela has agreed to exclusively buy American-made products using funds from a new US-brokered oil deal. This move signifies a significant shift in Venezuela’s economic strategy and is expected to benefit American manufacturers, farmers, and exporters.
According to a post on Truth Social by Trump, Venezuela has committed to using the revenue generated from the oil agreement to procure a wide range of US goods. This includes American agricultural products, medicines, medical devices, equipment, as well as technology to enhance Venezuela’s electricity grid and energy infrastructure.
Trump emphasized that this decision marks a strategic realignment, with Venezuela now prioritizing business with the United States over its previous economic ties with US rivals. He stated, “Venezuela is committing to doing business with the United States of America as their principal partner, a wise choice that will benefit both countries.”
The announcement comes following the Trump administration’s move to take control of Venezuelan oil sales under a new framework that places exports and revenues under US supervision. The oil will be sold at market prices, with the proceeds channeled through US-controlled mechanisms.
Trump highlighted the direct economic benefits to the US, particularly for American farmers, manufacturers, and medical suppliers. He also pointed out the opportunity to improve Venezuela’s electric grid and energy facilities using US-made equipment.
Under the previous regime of Maduro, Venezuela heavily relied on imports from China, Russia, and Iran, often utilizing discounted oil shipments as payment. The new agreement signifies a reversal of this trend, linking Venezuela’s access to global energy markets with the demand for American products.
This strategic partnership not only strengthens economic ties between the two countries but also addresses Venezuela’s infrastructure challenges and enhances US export opportunities. Trump’s announcement marks a significant milestone in reshaping international trade dynamics and fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
