CM Omar Abdullah Launches JK e-Pathshala: A Revolutionary Step in Education
Srinagar- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the JK e-Pathshala, a dedicated educational television channel for students in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the importance of technology as a support system in education rather than a replacement for teachers.
Omar Abdullah also marked the opening of two digital studios, declared 14 districts as fully literate, and dedicated 1,010 works under the Samagra Shiksha program to the public.
During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of JK e-Pathshala as a technological advancement in school education through digital tools, stressing that while technology can enhance learning, it can never substitute the bond between a teacher and a student.
He shared a personal story of how a dedicated teacher helped him overcome his fear of science, underscoring the vital role teachers play in shaping students’ potential.
Omar Abdullah encouraged teachers to integrate technology into their teaching methods while emphasizing the need for continuous skill development. He also underscored the importance of maintaining high-quality content on JK e-Pathshala to ensure its effectiveness.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the geographical challenges in Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted how the channel would enable students in remote areas to continue learning from home.
He advised students to use digital devices responsibly and promote reading habits among children, urging parents and teachers to instill the habit of reading books, newspapers, and magazines.
Expressing optimism for the future of JK e-Pathshala, Omar Abdullah envisioned dedicated channels for each class to enhance learning opportunities for students.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo praised the launch of JK e-Pathshala as a transformative step in bolstering the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
