Empowering Artisans: Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in Ganderbal
In a bid to foster entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities, the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Srinagar, recently organized a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme at Government Degree College, Ganderbal. This initiative, in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Ganderbal, primarily targeted beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
The main goal of the programme was to raise awareness about entrepreneurship and highlight the institutional support available through various government initiatives. Officials from DIC Ganderbal provided valuable insights into key self-employment schemes operational in the Union Territory. They shed light on programs such as the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Mission YUVA, explaining the eligibility criteria, application process, subsidy provisions, and the pivotal role these schemes play in fostering sustainable livelihoods for artisans.
Moreover, the Lead District Manager (LDM) of Ganderbal engaged with the artisans, addressing their queries regarding bank finance, credit linkage, and repayment mechanisms. This interactive session aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and resources to leverage financial support for their entrepreneurial endeavors.
