Safe Egg Samples in Srinagar Declared Fit for Consumption
Following recent tests conducted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), egg samples collected from various locations in Srinagar have been deemed safe for consumption, meeting all regulatory standards. This announcement was made by Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety in Srinagar, Yameen ul Nabi.
Eight samples, including both loose and packaged eggs, were gathered from supermarkets and wholesalers across the city during routine surveillance efforts to ensure the quality and safety of food products available in local markets. After extensive testing, all samples were confirmed to be of standard quality.
These results provide assurance to the public that the eggs in circulation in Srinagar comply with FSSAI guidelines and are suitable for human consumption. The samples were collected from various areas of the city as part of a broader campaign to uphold food safety standards, with the results being released after a 22-day period.
Addressing concerns about misinformation and panic, Yameen ul Nabi urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified videos that could cause unnecessary alarm. He also called on the media to prioritize verified information over rumors, emphasizing the importance of responsible reporting.
Continuing quality surveillance initiatives are planned to ensure public health and maintain confidence in the local food supply chain. These efforts aim to uphold food safety standards and provide consumers with peace of mind regarding the products available in Srinagar.
