DIPR Hosts ‘Cine Connect’ Workshop To Boost Film Culture
The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) held a one-day workshop called ‘CINE CONNECT’ at the Media Complex in Srinagar. The workshop aimed to promote film culture and raise awareness about opportunities in the cinema industry in line with the Film Policy of Jammu & Kashmir.
Students from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu, Government Polytechnic College Gandhinagar, and artists from the Academy of Art Culture and Languages attended the workshop.
DIPR’s Director, Nitish Rajora, mentioned that the workshop was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the cinematic ecosystem and provide valuable exposure to aspiring artists and filmmakers in the region. He also stated the department’s commitment to organizing similar workshops regularly to educate students and young minds about filmmaking and art.
During the workshop’s conclusion, Joint Director Information (HQ), Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, praised the initiative and stressed the importance of such workshops in nurturing local talent. He reiterated DIPR’s dedication to implementing the J&K Film Policy effectively to promote the region as a filming destination and create employment opportunities in the creative sector.
Nodal Officer, Film Policy J&K, Maheer Thakur, highlighted the workshop’s objectives and emphasized the significance of bridging the gap between aspiring artists and industry professionals. The workshop featured renowned resource persons from the film industry who shared insights on performing arts, acting, and filmmaking.
Notable figures like Actor & Director, Ajay Paul Singh Andotra; Filmmaker & Founder, AVD Motion Pictures, Atul Vinod Duggal; and Bollywood Actor, Mir Sarwar conducted sessions on acting techniques, career opportunities in acting and direction, and various aspects of filmmaking.
The interactive session allowed participants to engage with the resource persons, ask questions, and gain practical exposure in the field of performing arts. The workshop marked a significant step towards strengthening film culture in Jammu & Kashmir and empowering youth with knowledge and opportunities in the cinema industry.
