Guidelines Issued by CEO Baramulla for School Heads After Winter Vacations
With the winter vacations for educational institutions coming to an end, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla has issued detailed guidelines for school heads to ensure a smooth transition back to regular academic activities.
The winter vacation for schools from kindergarten to 8th class will conclude on February 28, while classes 9th to 12th will resume on February 22, 2026, as per the directives from the School Education Department (SED).
According to the circular issued by CEO Baramulla, all teaching staff are required to report to their respective institutions on February 20, 2026, in preparation for the reopening of schools.
The circular emphasizes the importance of making necessary preparatory arrangements well in advance to ensure a seamless and orderly reopening of schools. School principals, Zonal Education Officers, Headmasters, and Heads of Institutions have been instructed to adhere to these guidelines.
One of the key instructions from CEO Baramulla is to ensure that the reopening day is conducted in a warm, welcoming, and festive manner. This includes greeting students cordially, arranging welcome assemblies, motivational interactions, and distributing candies to create a joyful and stress-free atmosphere.
Schools have been tasked with undertaking a thorough cleanliness drive of the entire school campus, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, offices, corridors, and playgrounds. The focus is on ensuring a safe and obstruction-free environment for students and staff.
Additionally, schools are required to inspect and address any issues related to electricity supply, wiring, lighting, switchboards, furniture, doors, windows, and boards. The aim is to create a conducive learning environment for everyone.
Ensuring the availability of textbooks, teaching-learning materials, and other essential instructional resources is another key aspect highlighted in the circular. School heads are instructed to review the syllabus covered before the winter vacation, identify learning gaps, and prepare structured academic plans for the upcoming months.
Furthermore, all Heads of Institutions are mandated to convene a staff meeting on February 25, 2026, to discuss the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 and the District Report Card of Baramulla in detail.
Creating a welcoming environment on reopening, promoting activity-based and experiential learning, planning library, sports, and co-curricular activities to ensure holistic student development are some of the additional instructions provided to school heads by CEO Baramulla.
