Art and Culture of Jammu and Kashmir Shine at Republic Day Parade
New Delhi- The 77th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi saw a vibrant showcase of the rich art and culture of Jammu and Kashmir, bringing to life the traditional crafts and music of the region.
The tableau of the Union territory highlighted the exquisite craftsmanship of the region, featuring gleaming samavaars, intricate metal engravings, Kani shawls with symbolic patterns, hand-knotted carpets, and carved walnut-wood artefacts.
Papier mache creations and Pahari miniature paintings, including the Basohli style, added a touch of color and finesse to the display, honoring the skilled artisans who have kept these traditions alive for centuries.
The tableau also showcased saffron blossoms, symbolizing the timeless heritage and identity of the region rooted in its land and labor.
Accompanied by a harmonious fusion of rabab, santoor, and flute music, the performance brought to life the cultural diversity of the region through traditional folk dances like Rouf, Kud, Pahari, Bhadarwahi, and Gojri dances.
The display was a celebration of the region’s cultural richness, showcasing the collective spirit and joy of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
