Srinagar: People’s Conference President Criticizes National Conference-led Government
Speaking out against the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir government, Sajad Gani Lone, the president of the People’s Conference, described their tenure as a “saga of betrayal.” He went on to label 2025 as a “year of lies.”
Lone, who represents Handwara in the Legislative Assembly, accused the government of presiding over the “most cruel and useless” rule in the state’s history.
He highlighted that the election promises made by the ruling party were nothing but a deliberate deception. Lone alleged that instead of receiving the promised free 200 units of electricity, residents in non-metered areas are now facing a 50% increase in tariffs.
Furthermore, he claimed that the commitment to provide 12 gas cylinders has not been fulfilled, and the pledge of creating one lakh jobs has turned into a scandal involving the outsourcing of permanent government positions to private companies, exploiting the youth in the process.
Lone criticized the administration for reducing governance to a mere “transfer industry” while neglecting the deteriorating state of essential services.
