Empowering Youth: Addressing Substance Abuse and Misinformation
In a bid to tackle the pressing issues of substance abuse and the spread of misinformation among today’s youth, Pulwama witnessed an enlightening awareness program titled “Mulakaat Samkhun Teh Bedaar Gasun.” The event, organized by the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, took place at the Pulwama Town Hall and aimed to shed light on these critical challenges.
The program saw the participation of esteemed speakers, including Mr. Jasib Shabir, District Coordinator Pulwama, and District Coordinators from neighboring districts such as Mr. Shabir Ahmed Sheikh (Budgam), Mr. Rasik Ahmed Sheikh (Shopian), and Mr. Amir Rashid Sheikh (Srinagar). Together, they delved deep into the repercussions of drug abuse and the dangerous impact of misinformation, particularly prevalent on digital and social media platforms. They emphasized how these issues not only affect decision-making but also hinder personal growth and moral values.
The significance of critical thinking, media literacy, and responsible digital engagement was highlighted as crucial tools for young individuals to navigate the vast amount of information available today and make informed choices.
An interactive session followed the presentations, where participants raised pertinent questions concerning addiction, misinformation, and the role of youth in shaping a better society. This dialogue fostered meaningful conversations and provided practical insights for addressing these challenges at both individual and community levels.
The event concluded with a collective commitment to raising awareness, promoting responsible behavior, and fostering civic consciousness. The Save Youth Save Future Foundation reiterated its dedication to nurturing a well-informed, resilient, and drug-free youth community.
