Bharatiya Janata Party to Focus on Daily Wagers Issue in Upcoming Assembly Session
The Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to address the longstanding issue of daily wagers during the upcoming Assembly session commencing on February 2, as stated by BJP legislator Vikram Randhawa on Saturday.
During a press briefing in Jammu, Randhawa emphasized that the party will bring attention to various public interest matters in the House, particularly highlighting the challenges faced by daily wagers who are still awaiting regularization. He pointed out that a significant number of daily wagers were hired during the National Conference regime and questioned the delay in their regularization under the current government.
Randhawa raised concerns regarding the prolonged delay in resolving this issue despite repeated commitments. He affirmed that the BJP will exert pressure on the government to establish a definitive and time-bound policy for the regularization of daily wagers.
Additionally, Randhawa reiterated the party’s demand for statehood for Jammu, asserting that the region’s identity is intertwined with Kashmir and that separatation would not be viable. He criticized the historical dominance of Kashmir over Jammu and advocated for addressing the perceived regional imbalance.
In the forthcoming Assembly session, the BJP plans to address key issues related to employment opportunities, regional parity, and governance. The party aims to represent the voices and aspirations of the people of Jammu effectively.
The upcoming Assembly session, set to commence on February 2, is anticipated to witness intense discussions on political, administrative, and socio-economic challenges facing the Union Territory. [KNT]
