Operation “Kiya”: Two JeM Terrorists Neutralized in Udhampur
In a successful operation lasting over 20 hours, security forces in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir eliminated two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit on Wednesday. One of the slain terrorists was identified as Avu Mavia, a prominent JeM commander with a long history of terrorist activities in the region.
The operation, codenamed “Kiya” by the Army, was meticulously executed in the remote forest area of Jophar Forest, Basantgarh. The area, where the terrorists were holed up, is still under surveillance to prevent any potential threats.
According to the Army’s White Knight Corps, the operation was based on precise intelligence inputs provided by the police. The Counter-Intelligence Force Delta and White Knight Corps, along with police and CRPF, collaborated seamlessly to corner the terrorists and prevent their escape.
Continuous engagement with the terrorists was maintained until they were successfully neutralized. The operation showcased exceptional inter-agency coordination, tactical prowess, and professionalism on the part of the security forces.
The recovered arms and ammunition, including an M4 carbine and an AK assault rifle, underscore the grave threat posed by the terrorists. While one terrorist was found near the entrance of a natural cave, the other was located deep inside.
With the conclusion of the operation, the area continues to be closely monitored to ensure the safety of the region. The successful mission reflects the unwavering commitment of the security forces to combat terrorism and ensure peace in the region.
