Apple’s Strong Year in India: iPhone Shipments Grow 24%
In 2025, Apple had a successful year in India, with iPhone shipments increasing by 24% compared to the previous year, according to data from CyberMedia Research (CMR). The growth in iPhone shipments outperformed iPads, which saw a more modest 2% increase.
Prabhu Ram, VP-Industry Research Group at CMR, commented on Apple’s performance in India, stating that the strong demand for iPhones reflects healthy market dynamics. iPads also showed resilience, with refreshed launches contributing to Apple’s strength in both productivity and premium segments.
The standout performer of the year was the iPhone 16 series, which became Apple’s most successful smartphone lineup in 2025. It accounted for 57% of total iPhone shipments, making it the top-performing model of the year.
Following the iPhone 16 series, the iPhone 15 series held a 24% market share, while the newer iPhone 17 series captured 10% of the market. The iPhone 16e also made a significant contribution with a 6% share.
Despite a slight dip of 3% in iPhone shipments in Q4 2025 compared to the previous year, iPads recorded an impressive 95% year-on-year growth during the same period. This indicates a shift in traction towards iPads towards the end of 2025, while iPhones dominated the full year.
Throughout Q4 2025, the iPhone 16 series maintained its leadership position with a 50% market share. The iPhone 17 series gained momentum with a 24% share, and the iPhone 15 series stood at 17%. The iPhone 16e accounted for the remaining 8% of the market.
On the iPad side, the iPad 11 series emerged as the clear winner for the full year 2025, commanding 68% of total iPad shipments.
