AMK to Host Three-Day Kashmiri Conference in Jammu
Baramulla- Adbi Markaz Kamraz (AMK) has given the green light to organize a three-day Kashmiri conference in Jammu, paving the way for numerous initiatives to enrich Kashmiri language, literature, and cultural activities.
During its monthly meeting at the organization’s headquarters in Kanispora, Baramulla, the AMK Executive Body made significant decisions focused on the promotion of Kashmiri language, literature, and culture.
The meeting, chaired by AMK president Mohammad Ameen Bhat, saw the participation of representatives from approximately thirty affiliated units throughout the region.
A moment of remembrance was observed during the meeting, paying respects to departed souls including prominent writer and broadcaster Abdul Ahad Farhad, General Council Member Ghulam Hassan Baykas of Sadrkot Bala, Bandipora, and others associated with the organization.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the approval of a proposal to host a three-day Kashmiri Conference in Jammu, aimed at fostering literary and cultural connections among Kashmiri-speaking communities beyond the Valley. Dates for the conference will be announced soon.
The Executive Body also endorsed the jury’s selections for the prestigious annual awards “Sharaf-i-Kamraz” and “Khilat-i-Hanfi Sopori” for the year 2025, recognizing exceptional contributions to Kashmiri language and literature.
Furthermore, it was decided that the Best Book Award of Adbi Markaz Kamraz will be presented annually on ‘Youm-i-Aslaaf’, commemorated on June 14 each year, to elevate literary achievements within the Kashmiri community.
Additionally, plans were made to conduct a theater workshop at the Adbi Markaz Kamraz headquarters post-Ramadan, inviting external experts to provide professional training to local artists, enhancing their theatrical skills and fostering creative expression.
The meeting concluded with a pledge to enhance the organization’s initiatives and extend its reach to promote Kashmiri language, literature, and performing arts across Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to amplify cultural heritage both regionally and nationally.
