Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Witnessed Noisy Scenes Over Land Encroachment Issue
On February 17, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was engulfed in chaos as MLA Khursheed raised concerns about remarks made by MLA Randhawa, leading to a heated exchange of words in the House.
Supporting Khursheed, MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone, National Conference legislators, and several other members added to the commotion, creating a tense atmosphere in the Assembly.
During the uproar, an MLA displayed a placard with the words “Khasra No. 211,” presumably as a taunt towards Randhawa. The latter had previously received a show-cause notice from the Jammu Development Authority regarding alleged encroachment on land identified as Khasra No. 211 in Chak Ganeshu village, Mandal tehsil, Jammu.
The incident sparked protests and counter-slogans within the Assembly, highlighting the seriousness of the issue at hand. (KNC)
