Jammu and Kashmir Weather Update: Dry and Stable Conditions Expected
The Meteorological Department has forecasted that Jammu and Kashmir will experience mainly dry and stable weather conditions until February 26. There are no significant predictions of rain or snowfall during this period.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of MeT Srinagar, mentioned that the overall weather outlook for the Union Territory will remain calm, with occasional light snowfall in isolated higher areas on specific days.
On February 17, there is a chance of light snowfall in isolated higher altitudes. The weather is expected to remain dry from February 18 to 24.
Skies may be partly to generally cloudy on February 25 and 26. From February 27 to 28, conditions are likely to be partly to generally cloudy, with the possibility of light rain or snow in isolated higher regions, especially towards the evening or night of February 28.
March 1 and 2 are predicted to have generally cloudy weather with light snowfall at isolated higher elevations. Farmers are advised to continue agricultural activities as the weather remains favorable. Both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to gradually increase across most areas over the next week.
Residents, particularly those in snow-covered and elevated areas, are warned against venturing into avalanche-prone and steep slopes for safety reasons.
