A moment of pride for Banihal as 22-year-old Saheem Ahmad, son of former Sarpanch Mohammad Ramzan Bohru of Changaldar Chapnari, Banihal in Ramban district, has secured a spot in the prestigious Bhartiya Corporate Premier League (BCPL) auction. This talented cricketer was chosen by the Ahmedabad Lions at a base price of ₹5 lakh, marking a significant milestone in his budding cricketing career.
The selection of Saheem has not only brought joy to his family but has also created a wave of excitement in the entire Banihal region. Speaking to Greater Kashmir, Saheem’s father, Mohammad Ramzan Bohru, expressed his son’s lifelong passion for cricket. “My son has had a deep love for cricket since his early days. He actively participated in various cricket academies and played matches in different states like Delhi, Punjab, and Jammu, catching the eye of selectors along the way,” he shared.
According to Bohru, Saheem’s impressive performance during the trials held in Jammu last October played a crucial role in his selection for the BCPL. Looking ahead, Bohru expressed his aspirations for Saheem to one day represent Team India on the international stage.
