BANDIPORA District Gears Up for Ramadan
In anticipation of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, led a meeting with key officers to assess and finalize the necessary arrangements throughout the district.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on fostering collaborative efforts among various departments to guarantee continuous provision of essential services, availability of high-quality food products, and efficient market oversight during Ramadan.
Ensuring Essential Commodities Availability
The Assistant Director of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department assured adequate stocks of essential items across Bandipora. The DC instructed the Power Development Department (PDD) to maintain a transparent power schedule and create a comprehensive 30-day roster detailing supply schedules to ensure uninterrupted electricity provision.
Focus on Public Health and Hygiene
To uphold public health standards, the Food Safety Department was tasked with forming dedicated inspection teams for regular market checks to prevent the distribution of substandard food products and monitor price fluctuations. The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department confirmed the functionality of all water supply schemes, while the Fire and Emergency Services were put on alert for any emergencies during Ramadan.
Sanitation and Livestock Management
The Municipal Committee was directed to enhance sanitation efforts, manage waste effectively, and identify areas in need of additional street lighting. The Sheep Husbandry Department reported ample availability of livestock, ensuring no shortage during the holy month.
Market Monitoring and Coordination
The DC stressed the importance of stringent market monitoring to prevent price gouging, hoarding, and sale of inferior goods. All departments were urged to collaborate closely to facilitate a seamless Ramadan experience for the residents of Bandipora.
