Ganderbal District Agriculture Development Review Meeting
The Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, recently presided over a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the progress of various agricultural development programs in the district. The meeting focused on the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP), and other ongoing schemes of the Agriculture and Allied departments.
During the meeting, the DC assessed the status of Unit Establishment, output tracking progress, and credit applications under the HADP and JKCIP schemes. Additionally, he reviewed the operations of Kisan Khidmat Ghars and the progress in farmer and farm registrations by Krishi Udyamis.
Emphasizing the importance of financial expenditure under HADP, the DC urged for optimal and timely utilization of funds by the Agriculture and Allied departments. He also directed the Lead District Manager and Cluster Head of Jammu and Kashmir Bank to expedite the processing of pending credit cases.
Following this, a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) was held to evaluate and approve eligible applications under the HADP and JKCIP schemes. The committee approved a total of 290 cases under JKCIP and 214 cases under HADP, related to Agriculture, Sheep Husbandry, and Fisheries Departments.
To ensure prompt processing and sanctioning of beneficiary cases, the DC instructed the concerned officers to provide handholding support to all beneficiaries for the optimal utilization of benefits. The meeting was attended by key officials from various departments including Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, NABARD Assistant General Manager, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Divisional Forest Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, and Lead District Manager.
