Police in Baramulla Seize Brown Sugar During Naka Checking Operation
In their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and eradicate the scourge of narcotics from the community, the Baramulla Police have apprehended two individuals and confiscated a substance resembling brown sugar.
The Police Station Tangmarg set up a naka checkpoint where the apprehension took place. Upon noticing the police presence, two suspects attempted to flee but were skillfully detained.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Owais Ahmad Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Treran
- Shoib Ahmad Khoker, son of Ashraf Khoker, resident of Check Treran
During a thorough search, a substance similar to brown sugar weighing 08 grams was found in their possession. Consequently, FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act has been lodged at Police Station Tangmarg, with investigations currently ongoing.
