Prime Minister Narendra Modi Encourages Students to Focus on Education and Skills
During the ninth edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of not wasting time on the internet, especially due to the cheap data availability in the country. He advised students to concentrate on honing their life and educational skills instead.
Modi stressed that education should not be seen as a burden and that whole-hearted dedication is necessary for success in life. He interacted with students from various parts of the country at his residence in New Delhi, sharing valuable insights on achieving success through focused efforts.
One key message from the Prime Minister was the importance of setting achievable goals that require effort but are not easily attainable. He highlighted the need to train the mind, stay focused on studies, and avoid distractions like excessive gaming.
While acknowledging gaming as a skill that can test alertness and aid in self-development, Modi cautioned against indulging in it solely for entertainment purposes. He emphasized the detrimental effects of gaming for money and highlighted the legal measures taken against online gambling in the country.
Modi also emphasized the uniqueness of individual learning patterns and advised students to believe in their preferred study methods. He encouraged them to seek advice but only incorporate it into their lives if it genuinely benefits them.
Reflecting on his own experience, the Prime Minister shared how he has adapted and evolved the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ initiative while staying true to its core principles. He underlined the importance of teachers supporting students to enhance their learning speed and maintain a balanced approach to studies, rest, skills, and hobbies.
Furthermore, Modi highlighted the significance of both life skills and professional skills, emphasizing that they should go hand in hand for holistic growth. He urged students to focus on continuous improvement and not just on academic achievements.
As the discussion with students revolved around approaching exams with confidence and positivity, Modi emphasized the need to live in the present and focus on what lies ahead rather than dwelling on the past. He reiterated that education should be engaging and fulfilling, leading to overall life enhancement beyond academic success.
The ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ initiative, which started in 2018 as a student interaction platform, has grown into one of India’s largest education engagement exercises. With record-breaking registrations each year, the program aims to inspire students to excel academically and personally.
Overall, the ninth edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ witnessed over 4.5 crore registrations, surpassing previous records and reinforcing its impact on students across the country.
