Union Home Minister Amit Shah Visits Jammu and Kashmir
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to commence a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir starting Thursday. During his visit, he will chair high-level review meetings focusing on security and development issues in the region. Additionally, he will make visits to the Border Security Force’s Bobia and Gurnam Border Outposts and meet with the families of fallen soldiers to hand over appointment letters.
Jammu and Kashmir Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma, expressed optimism about the Home Minister’s visit, stating that the scheduled security review meeting is expected to expedite the pace of development in the region. He emphasized, “There will be a review of the development-related schemes being run by the Central Government. This will accelerate the pace of development and boost the morale of the security forces.”
BJP MLA Shagun Parihar commended the Home Minister for his dedication towards the state and for considering the expectations of the people. She remarked, “Whenever they have come, they have lived up to the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He has always kept J&K close to his heart…”
Chief Spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Tanvir Sadiq, viewed the Home Minister’s visit as a beacon of hope for the people, reiterating the demand for the restoration of statehood. He also called for attention to the attacks on Kashmiris outside the state, stating, “Whenever the Home Minister visits, a ray of hope emerges that he will announce a good package. Most importantly, people want the restoration of statehood, which he promised us in Parliament. The time has come to fulfill that promise.”
Regarding the attacks on Kashmiris outside the state, Sadiq emphasized the need for immediate action, stating, “The time has come to take serious notice of this and put an end to it.”
