National Conference Leader Calls for Reintegration of Political Leaders
Jammu, Feb 03: In a recent statement, National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, emphasized the need for the Government of India to take decisive steps towards reintegrating political leaders who have been outside the mainstream political spectrum for various reasons.
Responding to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s address to the Assembly, Salman urged the government to make concerted efforts to bring these leaders back into the mainstream fold.
Furthermore, Salman also appealed for the release of political prisoners, particularly advocating for the general amnesty of youth who have been detained without trial on minor charges and have been languishing in jails across the country.
Addressing the role of coalition partners, Salman called on the Congress party to voice the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at the national level. He stressed the importance of amplifying the demand for the restoration of statehood to the region, highlighting the significant impact that their support could have.
Salman commended Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his sincerity and approach in navigating challenging circumstances, describing it as a “genuine healing touch.” He urged both Delhi and the opposition to acknowledge the delicate balancing act that the National Conference-led government in Jammu and Kashmir is undertaking.
Highlighting the need for unity and cooperation across political divides, Salman emphasized the importance of all parties, including the BJP, Congress, alliance partners, and independents, coming together to support initiatives that benefit the region. He contrasted the political divisions in Jammu and Kashmir with examples of unity from other states across India.
Salman’s appeal for respect for efforts being made and his call for political reconciliation, inclusive dialogue, and a united effort towards the restoration of statehood and democracy in Jammu and Kashmir underscore the importance of cooperation and collaboration in addressing the region’s challenges.
