Fire Breaks Out at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Qazigund
In a distressing incident on February 3, a fire erupted at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School located in Qazigund, causing significant damage to the school building, as confirmed by officials.
According to an official statement, the fire quickly spread throughout the structure, resulting in the complete destruction of the school building before the flames could be contained.
Immediate action was taken by the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel, with the assistance of local residents, who swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate firefighting operations and prevent the fire from extending to nearby properties.
Ghulam Hassan, the F&ES Incharge in Qazigund, reported that the fire was eventually brought under control. He further mentioned, “The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and a thorough assessment of the damages will be conducted in due course.”
