Landslide in Jammu and Kashmir Kills Livestock
In a tragic incident, a landslide in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar region resulted in the death of dozens of livestock, including sheep and goats. The unfortunate event took place near the Hasti bridge while a group of shepherds was crossing the area with their animals.
Fortunately, the shepherds themselves managed to escape unharmed, but several of their animals were buried under the debris caused by the landslide. The exact number of livestock casualties can only be determined once the ongoing rescue operation is concluded.
Recent weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir have been challenging, with most parts of the region experiencing fresh snowfall in higher altitudes and rainfall in the plains over the past couple of days.
Our thoughts are with the affected shepherds and their families during this difficult time.
