Government of Jammu and Kashmir Orders Enquiry into Circulation of Videos at GMC Udhampur
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has taken significant steps to investigate the circumstances surrounding the dissemination of videos on social media platforms related to Government Medical College (GMC), Udhampur. This decision comes after an incident on January 27, 2026, which raised concerns.
Through Government Order No. 67-JK (HME) of 2026, issued on January 28 and reported by Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of Government Medical College, Jammu, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
The inquiry is set to delve into the sequence of events at GMC Udhampur and explore the administrative, security, and institutional aspects that led to the circulation of the videos on social media platforms. The objective is to unravel the underlying issues and address them effectively.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Gupta, as the designated Inquiry Officer, has been tasked with providing a detailed and well-rounded report within 15 days from the issuance of the order. This report will shed light on the findings and recommendations arising from the investigation.
