Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Shines at FITUR Trade Fair in Madrid
The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department made a significant impact at the prestigious FITUR trade fair held in IFEMA Madrid from January 21st to 25th, 2026. Led by Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, the delegation showcased the beauty and charm of the region to a global audience.
The delegation included key members such as Joint Director Tourism Kashmir Waseem Raja and Joint Director Tourism Jammu Ajaz Kaiser Malik, along with enthusiastic tour operators from J&K.
One of the major highlights of the event was the introduction of Virtual Reality (VR) technology by the J&K Tourism Department. Visitors were enthralled by immersive VR experiences showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir.
In addition to the technological marvel, the display of traditional arts and crafts such as Paper Machine, Basholi Paintings, and Wicker Willow captured the attention of foreign visitors. The aroma of Kashmiri Kehwa added to the allure of the beautifully designed J&K stall, which received high praise from attendees and officials.
The event commenced with the inauguration of the J&K Tourism Stall on January 21st, attended by senior officers from the Indian Embassy in Spain, Ministry for Tourism Government of India, and prominent tour operators.
To further promote J&K Tourism on a global scale, a high tea event was organized for tour operators on January 22nd, which saw a significant turnout of industry leaders and media representatives. The presence of the Ambassador of India in Spain added prestige to the occasion.
Advisor to the Chief Minister actively participated in a high-profile meeting on tourism promotion hosted by the Indian Embassy in Spain on January 23rd, emphasizing the importance of showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Jammu & Kashmir.
Throughout the five-day event, the Advisor to the Chief Minister engaged in fruitful discussions with various tour operators and media personalities to enhance the visibility of J&K Tourism globally.
