Karnataka Cricket Team Undergoes Major Overhaul for Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Match Against Punjab
In preparation for their upcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match against Punjab, Karnataka has implemented significant changes, with Devdutt Padikkal stepping into the role of captaincy. The squad also welcomes back KL Rahul for the fixture set to take place at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, starting from February 1.
Padikkal’s appointment as captain comes as he replaces Mayank Agarwal, who will now focus solely on his batting responsibilities. Padikkal’s exceptional performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he amassed 725 runs in just nine innings at an impressive average of 90.62, solidifies his position as a key player for Karnataka.
Currently occupying the third spot in Elite Group B in the ongoing Ranji season, Karnataka’s lineup receives a significant boost with the return of KL Rahul. Rahul’s recent success in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand further enhances Karnataka’s prospects for success.
With these strategic changes and the addition of key players, Karnataka aims to elevate their performance and secure victories in the upcoming matches. The team’s dynamic approach and strengthened lineup position them as formidable contenders in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season.
