Tragic Accident in Bhaderwah Claims Lives of 10 Indian Army Soldiers
On a fateful Thursday, an Army vehicle met with a devastating accident in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the loss of 10 soldiers’ lives and injuring 11 others. The incident occurred at the Khanni top along the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road, at a daunting altitude of 9000 feet.
Reports indicate that the driver of the bulletproof Army vehicle lost control, causing it to skid off the road and plunge into a 200-foot-deep gorge. The vehicle was severely mangled, and the rescue operation launched by the Army and police teams was swift.
Tragically, four soldiers were found dead at the scene, while 11 others were rescued in an injured state. Despite immediate medical attention, six more soldiers succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total casualties to 10.
Efforts to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured soldiers are ongoing. One soldier remains under observation at the Bhaderwah sub-district hospital, while 10 others have been airlifted to the Udhampur command hospital for specialized care.
Expressing deep sorrow over the accident, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah offered their condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers. They praised the swift rescue operations and emphasized the nation’s solidarity with the bereaved families.
In a somber statement, LG Sinha mourned the loss of the brave soldiers and highlighted their outstanding service and sacrifice. He pledged unwavering support to the affected families and directed officials to ensure the injured soldiers receive the best medical attention.
As the nation comes together in grief, prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers are being offered. The entire country stands united in support of the brave men who lost their lives in the line of duty.
