Pre-Budget Consultations Begin in Jammu & Kashmir
The budget session of Jammu & Kashmir is about to commence, and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to conduct pre-budget consultations with various administrative departments starting from Tuesday.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also serves as the Finance Minister of J&K, will be engaging in pre-budget discussions with multiple departments, as per the schedule outlined by the Finance Department. The consultations will span over January 20, 21, and 22, involving 24 administrative departments, including those under his direct supervision.
On January 20, Chief Minister Abdullah will lead meetings with eight key departments under his purview. Subsequently, on January 21 and 22, he will preside over sessions with departments led by his cabinet ministers.
Attendance has been requested from ministers, the Chief Minister’s Advisor, the Chief Secretary, and administrative secretaries for these crucial meetings, as stipulated by the Finance Department.
The upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2026–27 is slated to be presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 6 during the Assembly session. This marks his second budget presentation as the Chief Minister, following the budget for the current financial year delivered on March 7, 2025, in the House.
