CM Omar Abdullah to Commence Pre-Budget Consultations for Budget 2026–27
As the budget session of Jammu & Kashmir approaches, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to lead pre-budget consultations with various administrative departments starting today.
Omar Abdullah, who also serves as the Finance Minister of J&K, will engage in consultations with 24 administrative departments, including those for which he holds ministerial responsibility, on January 20, 21, and 22 as per the Finance Department’s schedule.
The Chief Minister is slated to conduct meetings with eight key departments under his charge on January 20, followed by sessions with departments overseen by his cabinet ministers on January 21 and 22.
Ministers, the Chief Minister’s Advisor, the Chief Secretary, and administrative secretaries have been summoned by the Finance Department to participate in these meetings.
On February 6, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will present the budget for 2026–27 in the Assembly, marking his second budget presentation. He previously presented the budget for the current fiscal year on March 7, 2025.
