In a significant development, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa of Baramulla presided over a crucial review meeting at the DC Office Meeting Hall to assess the implementation status of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in the district.
The primary focus of the meeting was to analyze the progress made, identify any existing gaps, and devise effective strategies to achieve complete saturation under the scheme.
Comprehensive details were presented during the meeting regarding the total number of KCC accounts in the district, encompassing active accounts, zero-balance accounts, inactive accounts, and targeted interventions needed for the success of the scheme.
Extensive discussions were conducted to strategize ways to ensure the full coverage of eligible beneficiaries under the KCC scheme. The emphasis was placed on enhancing outreach mechanisms, improving coordination among stakeholders, and resolving issues leading to inactive and zero-balance accounts.
DC Minga Sherpa instructed the concerned officials to launch a massive awareness campaign across all 402 Panchayats in District Baramulla to engage with eligible farmers, zero-balance account holders, and left-out beneficiaries for their enrollment in the KCC scheme.
Furthermore, the departments were directed to maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date branch-wise database related to KCC applications for effective monitoring of progress.
Additionally, Minga Sherpa urged the authorities to personally engage with zero-balance and inactive KCC account holders to activate their accounts, enabling them to fully benefit from the KCC scheme.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Nisar Ahmad, Lead District Manager Manzoor Ahmad, and other district and bank officials.
