Army Soldier Martyred in Encounter with Terrorists in Kishtwar
An army soldier, who sustained injuries during an encounter with terrorists in the Singpura area of Kishtwar, has tragically passed away, as confirmed by the Army on Monday.
According to a statement from the Army’s White Knight Corps, Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces displayed immense bravery and made the ultimate sacrifice while participating in a counter-terrorism operation in the Singpura area.
“The GOC, White Knight Corps, along with all ranks, pays heartfelt tribute to Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces, who valiantly laid down his life during a Counter Terrorism operation in the Singpura area as part of Operation TRASHI-I on the night of 19th Jan 2026. We salute his unwavering courage, valor, and dedication to duty, and extend our full support to his grieving family during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Prior to the encounter, a cordon and search operation was initiated in the Singpura area following intelligence reports indicating the presence of three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in the vicinity.
