Terrorist Hideouts Busted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua District
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully uncovered three terrorist hideouts in a recent anti-terror operation in Kathua district. This operation was a part of the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
The successful bust of these hideouts came after two encounters between security forces and terrorists in the Billawar area. Despite the terrorists managing to escape, the security forces were able to seize crucial information and materials from the hideouts.
Acting on intelligence reports, joint security teams launched a thorough search operation in the forested areas of Kamaad Nallah, Kalaban, and Dhanu Parole. The aim was to neutralize any potential threat posed by anti-national elements present in the region.
During the search, terrorists engaged in gunfire with the security forces, leading to an intense exchange that lasted through the night. Despite the challenges, the security forces remained vigilant and continued with their mission.
On Wednesday, one terrorist hideout was discovered, revealing a stash of items including empty cartridges, food supplies, clothing, and other essentials. The search operation continued the next day, resulting in the discovery of two more hideouts in Kalikhad and Kalaban.
From these hideouts, security forces recovered various items such as cooking supplies, utensils, blankets, and miscellaneous materials. The ongoing search operation is being led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma, emphasizing the commitment to rooting out terrorism in the region.
